Bridging Divides

We don't need to be so divided. Together, let’s find more common humanity.

What is Bridging Divides?

Up and down the country, we're seeing communities feeling more divided. But it doesn’t have to be this way.

Bridging Divides is a community of people who put humanity first and choose to show compassion in divided times.

It starts with each of us: every time someone chooses compassion over division, this inspires others to do the same. Together, these small moments have the power to shift the world around us.

The role of the British Red Cross in Bridging Divides

As part of the world’s largest humanitarian movement, we never take sides. Our focus is simply the people and communities that need our help, and we treat everyone with compassion and respect, no matter who they are or what they believe in.

These humanitarian values help us reach across divides. And that’s what Bridging Divides is all about: being able to talk about difficult topics in a way that leaves us more informed, not driven further apart.

We know the world is a volatile place right now. And like many people across the UK, we’re worried about the growing feeling of division in our society. Learn more about why we are launching Bridging Divides and more ways we are choosing to show compassion in divided times.
